The nap on this black velveteen is incredibly dense and soft, making it a joy to cut and sew without shifting. At 42 inches wide, I had plenty of fabric for my project and it drapes beautifully.

The weight is perfect for structured pieces—at 6.78 ounces per square yard, it drapes with a nice, substantial feel that doesn't flop around. I've already used a full yard for a pillow cover and the black color is deep and rich, no shine at all. Stitching through it was a breeze with a standard need

The nap is so dense and even that it catches the light like liquid, and the 42-inch width gave me just enough for a tailored vest without piecing. Stitches sink in beautifully without any puckering.
