The tiny tone-on-tone squares give this fabric a soft, textured look that works beautifully for both quilting and simple apparel—I've already used it in a baby quilt and it held its shape through the wash without any fraying. The weight feels just right for a basic cotton, not too stiff or flimsy.

The tone-on-tone squares read as a subtle texture rather than a pattern, which is exactly what I wanted for a quilt backing. It pressed flat without any waviness, and the hand feel is soft enough for a shirt. This is my second order of it, and I’ll grab more for the next project.
